Hints + Tips
1. Check your Mic Blockr is connected
To check your Mic Blockr is connected correctly check for a headphone icon at the very top of your screen.
When indicated means your dongle is correctly fitted and has been recognised by your phone.
2. Testing
To test your Mic Blockr, ensure the red LED switches on and off with the mute button on the dongle when connected to your phone.
The with the LED light on, make a short voice recording on your phones voice recorder or messaging app.
Playback the recording to ensure the microphones are working.
Then press the mute button to switch off the LED and repeat the same message.
This time there should be no playback indicating your dongle is working correctly and microphones disabled when the LED light is off.
3. Voice Activation
On Apple phones with the Mic Blockr fitted SIRI may still be able to listen for your open request (Hey Siri) when the LED is off, however it should not undertake the accompanying command.
This is due to the nature of the Siri system which uses voice recognition to open Siri but uses the regular microphones to hear and act upon your actual command/request.
For an added level of privacy, you can enter the phone settings to totally disable Siri.
4. Temporary Muting
When on a regular or VIOP call you can simply press the Mic Blockr mute button to temporarily mute a call to stop your caller hearing you and press again to continue the call as normal.
5. Charging
Mic Blockr has a charging port to allow you to connect your charging cable into the device for normal phone charging whilst retaining the functions of the Mic Blockr dongle.
6. Video Playback
With some phone models you may have to press the mute button (illuminate the LED) to listen to video playback.
7. Headphone Jack
For 3.5mm headphone jack dongles you must remove the device to allow normal phone use. When fitted it will disable all microphones and ensure your offline privacy.
8. No Charging Required
Mic Blockr dongles are powered by your phone and do not require any batteries or charging.
